An option to disable Audio over HDMI

This is a very important option. Cause everytime I play a movie file without digital output, I have to mute the TV. If I don't do so, I have sound on TV and AVR at same time and the TV Speakers blast me away. On my Yamaha DVD Player I have the option and it is very useful. THX

bug:very low audio volume with ac3 through analog

generally, output volume is rather slow, but especially with AC3 downmixed to stereo thorugh analog connectors. I have to crank up my TV bigtime.resulting in blasting them apart after shutting down the WD.

more remote ir codes

I like your cheap little remote that comes with this.
Lots of people use universal remotes that have
all kinds of macros and what not. I personally have
a philips pronto. So, I program the pronto and toss
the original remote back in the box.

I would like you to support more IR codes that I could
take advantage of with a universal remote:

1. Power ON (not a ON/OFF toggle)
2. Power OFF
3. Audio stream selection (no need to enter menu)
4. Subtitle selection (no need to enter menu)
5. Replay w/Subs (jump back 10s and turn on subtitles if not already on for times you don't understand the dialouge)
6. Replay no/Subs

I am copying my movies into DVD files (.VOB) and would like to be able to start the movie into the menu and not directly into the movie.

Auto-generation of video thumbnails (esp. AVCHD)

Windows Vista can auto-generate a thumbnail (based on the first frame) for most of the common video formats, so why can't WDTV? Is the CPU not powerful enough?

This would be especially useful for those of us with HD camcorders using AVCHD format, because we could instantly see which clips we want to play. Currently it is extremely time-consuming and complex tp make thumbnails manually.

Add support for OGM files

A lot of older anime uses this file extension. I'd like for WD HD TV to have support for these.

Autorun

I would appreciate this autorun feature. For Example, Tvix 6500, have the possibility to create a folder named "AUTORUN" on the inside HDD. On that folder you can put what kind of files you want, i used it for music, and it plays. The good reason it's that you can listen to your favorite music without open the TV. So i am wondering why something like this cannot be applied also on WD. I power the media center and it starts to play from my usb device all the music i have in AUTORUN folder, in random mode. COLLLLL. PLSSSSSSSS add this function in a future firmware. Thank you!

Fix *.MS-DVR navigation problems and add *.WTV support for Windows Media Center recordings.

The old Windows Media Center records in *.MS-DVR files which WD TV does play. However, if you try to fast forward or rewind at any speed past 2x (eg. skip commercials) there are many problems: the displayed video is vastly out of sync with the actual video time so you can not visually determine where you are, and in many cases attempting to navigate will cause the video to stop playing or return to the start. Very frustrating.

I'm not sure if these navigation issues are strictly a problem with MS-DVR files or mpeg2 video in general, but either way should be fixed.

Also, the newest versions of Windows Media Center use a *.WTV format. It's pretty easy to convert them to MS-DVR but it's an extra hassle. It would be nice if *.WTV would be supported directly so that we can just copy recorded programs from the PC to a USB drive and display them on the our HDTVs using WD TV.

Fix external subtitles bug in 1080p mkv files

Fix the stuttering and no audio bug when using external subtitles files in 1080p mkv.

When the subs are muxed in the movie, no problems happens.

In stand-by mode reduce power and internal heat

If ti's posible, in stand-by reduce internal processor clock or make other changes to reduce internal heat of device. I'm not agree with this waste, some times this internal heat make WD fails playing mkv's

"Cowerflow" view when browsing files...

It would be nice, if in some of the future firmware updates could be added option to browse files in "coverflow" view.
