        what about news ?

A menu option for deleting a file after watching it would be very very usefull, isn't it?

This is a must have feature. Currently have 1 TB as permanent storage and 320 GB portable storage. Would be great to transfer directly from portable to permanent

transfer file from usb1 to usb2 is wondeful feature. I could take my WD TV instead of laptop for storing photos from my SLR-camera

This would be a very nice feature. A must have due to large (affordable) external drives has their own power supplies and it would be a hasle to move around, when nicelly setup beside the entertainment system where cables are tidely hidden. I havnt got a WDTV yet, but this is the last functionality I am waiting for. Otherwise there is always the (more expensive and functionality-doped) Popcorn hour.

My 5 cents regarding users afraid of accendental deletion, the GUI should be implemented so that, the user enters a file-management-mode with an optional parental lock, so that accidental "navigation" is minimal.

        Good idea! Like this one.

Presumably "started" means a programming is working on implementing this, and it can take anywhere from a week to months before it is ready - depending on how far he is and how much of a priority it is given.

        Most wanted feature!

UI suggestion: Many ways to skin a cat (or skin file management in this case) but personally I think a split screen systems like the old Norton Commander (PC version called Total Commander) could work nicely for file management

Firmware 1.2.10 pre-release doesn't include this new feature. Final release would include it, or we've to wait until next releases? someone has information about it?

        what the "started" status mean?

I vote for this copy/delete feature.

Hi! Good idea. But the rename of the file would be important.

I hope that this funtion can be locked by a parent control with code or someting. Because if they don't my kid can erase the whole disk. ;)

Excellent idea!!! it would be very helpful to have this function in the device.

I fully support the ability to delete, copy or transfer files, most of these features are already available on the Iomega screen play Pro HD multimedia hard drive, I have used it without any problems no files deleted by mistake. I really hope the feature gets added to the WDTV
