So I have noticed that 5.1 channel FLAC audio in an MKV container show up as stereo in my AV reciever.
Its one of the efficient lossless compression algorithms to date, and ripping blue rays to it and playing seems like the best choice.

NTFS, FAT and HFS+ are old filesystems. EXT4 is a good choice for every user that want a better filesystem

Use wifiradio-frontier.com as an example to play free internet radio stations from around the world. Pandora is useless to non US citizens and emboiled in some pointless copyright issue - wifiradio-frontier is not.
Other streamingplayers such as the bbc iplayer are good too.

Not having GMC Warppoint support kills off support for nearly 3/10 of all XviD/Divx files I have.

Any MKV files encoded with the Variable Frame rate Flag have an issue with Audio Sync during playback.
The play back starts in Sync but drifts out after 10 minutes.
Stoping and resuming the file resyncs for another short period of time then you need to stop and resume again.
Playing on a WDTV V1 (Latest firmware) or and a PC with VLC, Windows Media player, or Media playtyer classic and the file is insync perfectly 100% of the time. So the issue must be in the firmware of the WDTV V2 and Live.

Why won't AAC files work like MP3's that have been edited in iTunes, shouldn't be a hard problem to sort!

I connect my WDTV to amplifier via S/PDIF. Mixer in WDTV is ease to increase or decrease bass/treble, and great function is up or down volume for every single channel (L/R, Voice, LFE, L/R Surround, etc.)
Many movies have AC3 voice channel too low.

I still find this really clunky. Also unreliable. Especially on MPEG-2 recorded TV. Often it says it has moved but when you press play you wither haven't advanced at all or a lot less than shown.

It is released in Playstation 3. A lot of AVRs can decode multi-ch PCM

It would be great if the device allowed users to rename files.

I use the device to watch my HD home video files that are unwatchable on my desktop/laptop. And since the name 00001.mts and 00002.mts mean nothing to me, it would be so nice to be able to rename the file once I have briefly watched a portion of it.

This would go great with adding support for wireless (IR) keyboards!!!
